Fussell Well Drilling was founded in 1998 by Lawrence Fussell. Born and raised in Polk County, Lawrence grew up in the drilling industry, as his father and grandfather were water well drillers in the area. Before starting FWD, Lawrence worked for his father’s company, J.W. Fussell Well Drilling, gaining many years of experience.

In 2007, Lawrence’s son, Tim, who was also born and raised in Polk County, took over the family business. Fussell Well Drilling is currently owned and operated by Tim and his wife, Lisa. Their son, Caleb, is also actively engaged in this family business and will continue this family's legacy of well drilling in Central Florida. Their vision for the company is to continue providing quality and affordable services while expanding the services and service areas.

Tim has extensive knowledge related to drilling in Polk County and can assist clients in selecting the proper well type, pump, and tank to meet their needs. Our Services

New Well Drills:

Fussell Well Drilling is a one-stop shop for all water well needs for residential, commercial, agricultural, and industrial customers. We specialize in drilling deep wells for various purposes, including providing a reliable and clean water source for household members, livestock, and crops. These wells can also provide a consistent and safe water source for entire communities, serving as a public water supply. In addition, we drill shallow wells for irrigation and domestic purposes if the geographic conditions of the area and the intended purpose allow it.

Water Well Abandonment:

Improperly abandoned water wells pose a severe liability. These wells can impact the quality of the groundwater on the property and beyond. Also, they pose a physical safety hazard to any new construction work on the property, as well as household members and pets. Our expert team at Fussell Well Drilling can accurately estimate the time and materials needed to abandon a failed or undesired well properly, pull the necessary permit, and assist with any reimbursement paperwork when applicable. After safely decommissioning the well, owners can drill a new one or carry out other desired construction work on the property.

Water Well Rehabilitation:

Water well rehabilitation services can restore water flow through a well system that fails to produce adequate water. At Fussell Well Drilling, we can identify the cause of decreased flow and test whether rehabilitation is possible. If so, our team will use a combination of methods, such as chemical treatments, brushing, and high-pressure jetting, to restore the water flow.

Pump Installation and Service:

At Fussell Well Drilling, our experts assist customers in selecting the proper pump size and type for their application and have them professionally installed by our experienced team. We offer submersible, deep, and shallow well jet pumps and irrigation, centrifugal, and turbine pumps. Our team can also service pumps to ensure they maintain functionality and efficiency and extend the system’s lifespan. In case of an existing pump failure, we can promptly diagnose and repair the issue or replace the pump.

Tank Installation and Service:

Fussell Well Drilling offers several types of tanks in various sizes, including galvanized, bladder, and ASME hydropneumatic tanks. In most systems, the water tank pressure signals the pump when to cut on and off, making the tank an integral part of the well system. When in use, water will first drain from the tank until the pressure drops to the cut-on level, which signals the pump to turn on. When the water is turned off, the pump also turns off after refilling the tank to the set cut-off pressure.

Water Treatment Systems:

At Fussell Well Drilling, we can install new water treatment systems on any property. The type of system required depends on the water quality. Currently, we offer filtration systems, water softeners, chlorination-dechlorination systems, and aeration systems. In addition, our team possesses the skills, tools, and equipment to service most water treatment systems correctly. Regular servicing maintains water quality, improves efficiency, and extends the system’s lifespan.
